 Reflection writing for the 2nd week block-teaching (Week 10)

In this week, I feel that teaching was getting easier than last week. This result from being more familiar with students and subjects. And this time, I could manage to take a good control of the whole class even some students are hyperactive. On Monday, I refer back to the old lesson for Friday last week to be delivered on this day. Students were seemed to really enjoy the learning. Sometimes students want more activities to practice what they learned, so this make me to create more activities for them beside what I had been provided.

Firstly, regarding the ability of students to the learning outcome. There are 5 students seemed to be slow learners. Sometimes these students achieved the learning outcome and sometimes they did not. I found that these students have the ability to achieve the learning outcomes but they need be comforted in some situation. So, I tried some teaching strategies in the learning process but most of them didn’t work for them. At last, one teaching strategy that work for them is doing activities in a game way like puzzle. However, all students this week were successfully achieved learning outcomes and there’s no need for the redo.

Secondly, there are also some teaching strategies that I had use in this week, some of the teaching strategies were very effective in some situation but didn’t work for some issues so this also makes me adopted many teaching strategies at once. However, most of teaching strategies I used were helpful during the catering.

Thirdly, referring to the lesson plan evaluations, it is clearly showing that there is an improvement in teaching and learning process. All the evaluations show that there are less weaknesses than strengths, even there are weaknesses but there is an improvement occur.

To conclude, it is clearly showing that the teaching for this week went well. Comparing with last week it is emphasized that there is an improve in teaching this week which is also shown in the evaluation. Even there are some difficulties in the teaching due with student behavior but I’ve learned that it is very important for the teacher to find ways, to adopt strategies and to have patience rather than giving up or leaving students behind.

English lesson observation

 Observation 2 (English lesson) On the 12th day of April 2023, I did observe my English Associate teacher in delivering an English lesson. The focus of this observation is to observe and explore teaching and learning strategies which might assist or enhance my teaching experience in the future. In this reflection, I will basically discuss on the strengths and weaknesses of this delivery, including some remedies to overcome each of these weaknesses. Ethical Behaviors and Personal Values

  On the 16th day of June 2021, I had another teaching practicum at a primary level in the Year 3. I reached a primary campus at 7:45am with a lesson plan and required resources to be approved by the principal, then the school starts at 8:30am. There are 26 students in the Year 3 classroom and they all arrived on time. However, in my journal I will basically discuss on one of the contents of the NTSS, which is Ethical Behaviors and Personal Values. The first thing I did, I tried to take the attention of students to engage in the lesson to make sure students focus on the outcomes of the learning.
